Book buying, Thoughts and other Miscellany

Sunday Salon – Huzzah!

Last week, I complained that I hadn’t got any reading done. Since last Saturday, I have read (unlinked books are yet to be reviewed but will be reviewed next week):

The Thirteenth Tale
by Diane Setterfield, Starter for Ten by David Nicholls, In Search of the Rose Notes by Emily Arsenault (this was a NetGalley advance review – it’s coming out in August) and One Day by David Nicholls

I also finally reviewed Kazuo Ishiguro’s A Pale View of Hills.

So all in all, I think we can safely say that my reading mojo is back.

New books at Maison RFBT:

From the library

From Foyles Bookshop yesterday – and I’m going to Notting Hill Book Exchange today and we know how that usually ends (exhibit 1, exhibit 2, exhibit 3):

David Mitchell’s number9dream, Black Swan Green and Ghostwritten. After I loved The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet so much, I am really looking forward to getting to some more of his writing – but also a little scared in case it doesn’t live up to it. I do like the way the editions have been redone so that they fit together thematically – and two of these copies I got today were autographed! Thanks Foyles

Hope you have a lovely sunny Sunday like the one that is forecast for us!
