Musing Mondays – Audio

This week’s Musing Monday asks:

Do you listen to audiobooks? If not, why not? And, if so, what has been one of your favorites, so far?

I do, although not often – I’ve discovered that I can only concentrate on them if I am driving – anything else requires too much or too little concentration. I’ve had some success listening to them while cleaning but I tend to walk around too much when cleaning for the sound to follow from the computer…

I absolutely loved Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and cannot wait to go and see it as a film. I also enjoyed The Tenderness of Wolves in audio format (both links are to my reviews). I’ve not had much luck with any others – I am much less tolerant of poor writing in audio format.

  1. I like your answer. And I think I’m going to give audiobooks another try. It seems like there are a lot of good celebrity readers now, too. That might be fun.

  2. You are so right, poor writing does stand out a mile in audio. I swear by listening to audio books on my drive to and from work each day – it’s a huge de-stresser and distraction from work thinking… And it makes getting stuck in a traffic jam so much more bearable (oh well, I will have time for another chapter then!).
