Thoughts and other Miscellany

Sunday Salon – birthday!

It was my birthday yesterday, I turned 26. Like a real grown-up. I remember asking a favourite Maths teacher when I was about 11 (I think it was her birthday that day) what age it was where you were happy with your age and didn’t still want to be older, the way children do, or younger, the way adults seemed to. She replied that it was 26. So here’s to a great year happy just being me.

Today I’m seeing Mini-Me for a girls’ day at the shopping centre – lunch, ice skating and the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire. Can’t wait to see it, having loved the first movie; I thought the second book was the best so really excited!

This week in books – revived the blog again so lots of reviews. Reading Bellman & Black by Diane Setterfield and absolutely loving it. The Silversmith’s Wife by Sophia Tobin arrived from Simon & Schuster yesterday (i.e. on my birthday) so that’s what’s next on the reading list.

Happy Sunday!!

  1. Again, happy birthday! It’s an interesting thought, 26 being the happiest age. I didn’t much like turning 26 (I find I feel like I should be much younger still), but I have no complaints thus far πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy Catching Fire. I will be seeing it tomorrow!
