Little Women – part 2

So I’ve finished Little Women part 1, and my Kindle thinks I’ve read 330 pages out of 330 but I’m only 48% of the way through… because part 2 i.e. Good Wives is then attached.

I genuinely thought I’d never read Good Wives but in my childhood copy of Little Women, both parts must be together because the Sad Terrible Thing (does everyone know what I’m talking about?) hasn’t happened yet. So I guess that means I can throw out the paper copy of Good Wives that is in my house and the other people fighting for air in my book-cluttered house will rejoice.

(spoilers in the YouTube video!)

So… I’ve finished the first of the four. And it’s such a beautiful book. Really hoping I enjoy the second half as much as I remember.

  1. I think I like Good Wives better than Little Women but I think that’s because my copy was my Mum’s and given to her by my Grandma. It’s well loved and slightly falling apart but I couldn’t ever throw it out!

  2. I think the sad terrible thing is in Good Wives. In America the series is only three books long: Little Women, Little Men, and Jo’s Boys. Good Wives is considered part of the original Little Women here. 🙂

    1. Well, I’m wondering how I ended up with a hardback copy of Good Wives – when it was clearly part of my original copy of Little Women. Odd. Oh well, it will go to a good home through Bookmooch.
